The Connected Futures project is delivered in partnership with Hastings Borough Council, East Sussex Country Council and CXK, funded by The Youth Futures Foundation - Connected Futures.  

Our research focuses on young people from 9 - 24 years old that are either not in education, employment, and training (NEET) or are currently in education/training with progression to employment or further education in the near future. We aim to explore young people's perceptions and experiences informing potential system change approaches to improve youth employment in Sussex and Hastings.

The research is led by a group of young (peer to peer) researchers across Hastings who are designing and leading the process. We are really interested to understand the extent the employment sector in Sussex and Hastings is accessible to young people, along with the role employers play in supporting the challenges they face. 

System change is informed by place based research and activity (evidenced based approach) led by local stakeholders. Youth Futures Foundation provides a detailed map of what this looks like and its impact. Details can be found at the end of this survey.

This is our first survey with employers and our first stage of engagement. It is important that we hear your voice as a Sussex-based employer. The survey will take approximately 5 minutes to complete, and the outcomes will be used to inform more detailed analysis by the research group.
